Want to Give a Gift that Lasts Forever?
Invest in your schools and your community!
By Eric J. McClain, CFP®, McClain Lovejoy Financial Planning, and member of the Vestavia Hills City Schools Board of Directors
Donors tend to think of cash contributions to the Foundation as a gift. While that's the tax code definition, the reality is that when you "gift" to the Foundation you’re really making an investment in Vestavia Hills and the Vestavia Hills City Schools. While a gift is given without any expectation of a return, you can expect an immediate and future return in exchange for your investment in the Foundation.
Your contributions go to work to help fund needs and enhancements for our growing school system. One hundred percent of your contribution is invested for the future so that we have an ever-growing endowment from which to fund future activities, including technology and teacher training among others.
And subject to limitations, you'll probably be able to deduct contributions against your federal and state taxes thus saving you money while supporting your community.
